At Alight, we are reimagining how people and organizations thrive.We are now hiring a Senior Insurance Licensing Manager to oversee our Licensing team, ensuring a compliant and strategic licensing program across Alight s insurance-regulated business units. This person will drive process improvements for agent training, licensing and carrier appointments, thereby expediting the ability for agents to become ready to sell and generate revenue for the business, and will provide transparent reporting to Legal and other business partners. This position will report to the Legal department.Job Responsibilities:Manage small team of managers and licensing administrators while also handling his/her own workload.Review internal licensing operations and implement revised procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of licensing activities in accordance with business goals, budgets and sales targetsEnsure compliance with all applicable regulations, including all NAIC rules and regulations, and all laws and ordinances imposed by CMS and each Department of Insurance (or equivalent) on a state level, as well as any applicable federal laws.Establish and nurture relationships with contacts at DOIs, insurance regulatory agencies, brokers and carriers.Ensure the successful onboarding of new carrier relationships or renewals of existing relationships by partnering with Legal and the business to establish terms, processes and service level agreements.Work with IT and business partners to implement and oversee new licensing platform(s) and train team to use such tools to improve licensing processes.Promote enhancement of licensing tools and technology and update licensing manuals and processes to support the continuous changes in state/federal licensing requirements.Provide Legal and business partners with transparent reporting and status of licensing, appointment,certification and other related projects.Assist Legal department with any other tasks in matters complementary or supplementary to primary licensing duties.Desired Skills and Experience:A bachelor's degree or higherAt least 5-7 years of licensing experience and 3 + years of leadership experienceAdaptable in handling a range of staffing and licensing needs throughout Alight s evolving businessesBreadth of experience in the insurance industry, including knowledge on agent/agency licensing, training and carrier appointments for various lines of authority in compliance with applicable insurance laws and regulations, including Medicare insurance licensing requirementsProject management skills, specifically strong organizational and planning skills, meticulous attention to detail, ability to efficiently manage changing priorities, and the ability to effectively advance multiple simultaneous projects within specific timeframesSuperior analytical, logic, problem-solving, and project management skills and sound business judgmentStrong interpersonal skills, with an ability to communicate, collaborate and build relationships with individuals at all levels inside and outside of the organization in a positive and effective mannerComfortable operating in a fast-paced, complex workplace, with a keen interest in learning on the job and expanding skill setAble to work independently while showing initiative and exercising good judgmentVersatile, flexible, motivated, and enthusiasticExperience in reviewing and negotiating carrier producer/agency and marketing agreements a plusExperience implementing and managing technology solutions and licensing resources (e.g., NIPR, NAIC, Sunfire Medicare, SBS, Sircon)Proficiency with Microsoft products and other technology toolsCapable of success with limited administrative supportBackground Check RequiredBy applying for a position with Alight, you understand that, should you be made an offer, it will be contingent on your undergoing and successfully completing a background check consistent with Alight s employment policies.
