Wheaton Sport Center is seeking an energetic, self-motivated and team-oriented tennis professional who can teach all ages/levels but enjoys working with players 10 & under. This person will have opportunities to work with both juniors and adults. This position is Part Time but can grow to become Full Time with benefits (minimum 35 billing hours per week required for FT). SUMMARY: Provide high quality tennis instruction and customer service to grow the game and to encourage repeat participation. Support the overall mission of Wheaton Sport Center and the Tennis Department. ESSENTIAL SKILLS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. On-court and Off-court Coaching Maintain an upbeat and energetic on-court teaching presence Proficient in 10 & under teaching methods appropriate for each developmental stage, age and size of participants Ability to also coach ages juniors 11 & over, adults and jr & adult travel teams. Build a consistent private lesson business in addition to assigned group hours Instruct students on proper technique and strategies to improve their overall tennis game Parent/Participant Communication & Relations Communicate with parents and maintain parent relations Project a professional, ethical and efficient image of the company to customers, employees and the public through high standards of business conduct and appearance Recruit new adult and junior players for the tennis program and actively promote WSC programs and special events Customer Service Demonstrate a positive attitude and actions through a display of courtesy, service, cooperation, hospitality, sensitivity, and professionalism to both internal and external customers. Adhere to WSC customer service standards as well as all WSC policies and procedures. Requirements: Have the desire to share your love for the game with all players. Be passionate about using tennis as a way for players to grow both on and off the court. Current PTR Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months CPR/AED certification within 60 days of hire NTRP rating of 4.0 or higher Previous experience coaching players ages 10 and under using current 10 & under teaching methods. Proficiency in teaching junior and adult players. Thorough knowledge of the game of tennis Ability to build positive relationships with customers and team members Must have evening and weekend availability
