They include: custom-engineered curtain wall and window wall, architectural windows, storefront systems, doors, skylights and architectural glass.The Technical Services Manager will be part of a Technical Services team responsible for laboratory testing, working with vendors, and providing technical support to the largest organization of glass and aluminum fabricators in North America. They will be working with sales, customer services, production, QC and management, as well as architects and glazing contractors. Regular job duties include:Technical Support* Provide technical assistance and problem solving for internal and external stakeholders. * Perform thermal stress and wind load analysis. * Perform a glazing detail review. * Review of project drawings and specifications.* Provide technical training to sales, customer service, QC. Quality Assurance Support* Conduct training programs for plant QA personnel.* Assist with product quality issues in the plants and field.* Support plant IG and safety glazing certification programs.Laboratory Testing Support* Evaluate existing and potential vendor materials.* Perform IG unit and component tests on production and field units.* Support R&D on new products and materials.* Participate in post-mortem evaluation to determine cause of product failure.The ideal candidate would:* Have good written and verbal communication skills.* Have a BS Degree in a technical field, but not required.* Have at least 5 years work experience in glass, glazing or sealant industry.* Have experience working in a laboratory.* Have a background in chemistry or sealants, but not required.* Have experience reading architectural drawings and specifications.* Be capable of working alone and traveling throughout N.
