Job Description:

SEC Design is a stable and growing manufacturer of innovative custom automation serving a variety of industries for over 26 years. Responsibilities include: Machine parts to specifications using shop equipment (lathes, milling machines, grinders, saws, etc.) Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers, depth micrometers, calipers, gage pins, height gauges, etc. as required. Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations. Create own set-ups to assure the most accurate and efficient means of machining parts to print. Understanding feeds and speeds of cutting tools to maximize machined finishes and tool life of cutters. Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to optimize methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products to meet product dimensions and tolerances. Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machining work. Confer with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information as required and provide feedback for future cost reduction. Proactive approach to continuous improvement suggestions, including productivity, quality, and shop safety. Document actions by completing production logs Desired Experience: 5-10 years of on the job experience. CNC / Mastercam experience a plus but not required. Must be able to read detailed drawings. Strong mechanical aptitude. Self-starter with the ability to multi-task various duties within deadlines and quoted specifications. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills Team player, respectfully working with co-workers, vendors, design, assembly and debugging groups to optimize design performance. Must have own tools. Physical Demands: Frequent standing Lift or move up to 25 pounds frequently Compensation: Hourly, based on experience Employee bonus based on company profitability
