Role PurposeThe Blending Operator is a critical role in our blending operations in Sycamore, IL. Incumbents in this role are responsible for all aspects of the production process from gathering raw materials to helping with sifting, packing, and shipping of final products.Key Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for performing all job functions/activities with a strong safety commitment and compliance with all outlined safety policies and procedures. Carrying out responsibilities/duties according to food safety, legal and quality requirements to ensure that our products are fit for human consumption. Moving, packing, and sorting raw materials or finished product packaging. Monitoring the quality of output to identify, discard, or re-manufacture faulty products. Maintaining accurate daily production records as input to manufacturing performance analysis. Meeting and exceeding clear housekeeping/GMP standards and food safety protocols. Complying with procedures that implement the requirements of the EHS policies and procedures.You will work closely with other departments such as the process engineers, maintenance, and quality control, and report directly to the production supervisor. Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions on site. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust. In addition, this job also operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; work from heights, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move products ranging from 30 to 55 pounds.
