Illinois Pain & Spine Institute (IPSI) is proud to be the leading provider of Interventional Pain Management in the Chicago area. IPSI's clinics and doctors are widely recognized and have been the recipients of several prestigious awards for their outstanding expertise in pain management. Our practice does not treat COVID-19 patients. We follow all CDC guidelines to insure the health and safety of our staff and patients. The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to assist the health care professional in ensuring the delivery of quality health services. Ensures optimal patient outcomes by providing patient care activities for the patient. We seek out-going friendly, highly motivated full-time Medical Assistant (s). 1+ years experience in a clinical setting preferred. Duties include but not limited to:

  • Triage patient phone calls
  • Review of systems/charting medications/allergies
  • Assist physicians with office visits/injections
  • Assist with Interventional Pain Management Procedures
  • Front desk - reception/scheduling procedures
  • Candidates will be asked to provide solid references

The Medical Assistant must be willing to travel to other locations for coverage including Elgin, Itasca, Barrington, McHenry, Libertyville and Elmhurst. Monday through Friday. With Rotating Saturdays. Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
    • One to three months related experience and/or training;
    • Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
    • eClinicalWorks a plus Skills and Abilities: Language -
      • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
      • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
      • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Mathematical -
        • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
        • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning -
          • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
          • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Other -
            • Ability to correlate clinical data with patient care.
            • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, co-workers, and others and adapt communication style as needed for best outcomes.               • Required to stand and/or walk for long periods

              • Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
              • Ability to push up to 300lbs. If pushing patients, they should be able to push up to this weight correct?
              • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
