We value our employees so there is potential for career growth, cross functional training, stretch assignments and ongoing educational opportunities.Job Summary:As Camera and Lab Technician, you will be working on testing and qualification of memory cards in cameras, workflow readers, and software solutions. You will collaborate with engineers to improve design and manufacturability of the products. You will perform failure analysis on RMA units. Knowledge of working with high-end photo and video cameras is a plus. Duties/Responsibilities:Testing memory cards in cameras. Running performance benchmarks leveraging 3rd party applications on Windows, macOS, and Linux environments.Test memory cards and readers with OWC's software solutions.Document and maintain test results in an organized fashion in a quality report.Debug cards within camera and process RMA units when needed.Updating memory card firmware through hardware and software application.Write and/or debug simple test scripts (e.g. shell scripts).Manage the lab computers, cameras and lab equipment in an organized fashion.Updating or reinstalling Windows and macOS operating software.Collaborates with Product Development Manager to design and implement test plans for hardware and software prototypes to ensure company's quality standards are met.Approves incoming shipments by confirming specifications, conducting visual inspections and performing functional tests.Researches and responds to JIRA tickets submitted by other departments to ensure internal customer expectations are met or exceeded.Conducts testing to reproduce reported field issues from customers, reviewers and internal departments.Responsible for compilation, analyzing and reporting of prototype testing data.Updates and maintains all quality control documentation for auditing purposes.Tests returned product in order to diagnose and correct field issues.Recommends corrective actions for product field issues and other quality issues.Qualifies new firmware release candidates before field deployment.Builds and maintains testing equipment used in all quality control processes.Analyzes and resolves technical product problems.Assists other departments in solving technical product problems.Communicates technical product information to appropriate departments.Communicates with vendors as needed on any issues that arise due to product testing and quality audits.Collaborates with other teams on production issues, quality concerns, and products in development.Assists with other duties or projects as requested by management.Required Skills/Abilities:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Must be detail oriented, have good critical thinking skills, and possess the ability to facilitate information in a clear and concise manner. Must have extensive experience with Microsoft Windows, macOS, and Linux environments. Must have technical knowledge of some high-end digital cameras and/or show willingness to learn. Must have knowledge and understanding of current and emerging technology standards. Education and Experience:Minimum four years of experience and/or training in related areas; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to make effective presentations on complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Physical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
