The Citi Retail Services (CRS) Data Rules, Requirements and Standards Analyst is responsible for managing the Data Assets, Data Standards, Data Quality rules and Data Retention for CRS. This U.S. based role will work in conjunction with the US Consumer Analytics (USCA) team to define business consumption requirements, expected standards for data quality, data retention and archiving of data, at scale. Responsibilities include use-case scope definition, defining data retention guidelines and controls to validate success. The candidate will provide guidance on high priority and cross-functional use cases for CRS data requirements.

A strong understanding of Finance, Risk and Marketing processes and reports, product processing within the financial services industry and a solid grounding of data management principles is essential and knowledge in relation to records management is very desirable. This position requires practical experience of implementing processes and tooling in a complex organization as well as delivery management skills within transformational programs. Excellent communication skills are required to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. The candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality work products.

Responsibilities:

• This Analyst role will manage and interact with cross functional teams to drive the data retention requirements for new applications and platforms and maintain an inventory of the data catalog for CRS.
• The Analyst will be responsible for maintaining the Data asset inventory and consumption patterns used across CRS and collaborate with the business and IT teams to simplify and reduce the data footprint for CRS.
• Promote 'data as an asset' and drive culture change to make the organization increasingly data informed.
• Creates, or supports the creation of, data and system flow documentation and process maps. Works to align other key data capabilities including metadata repositories, data dictionaries, data lineage, business process maps and training materials with the data and system process flows.
• Oversee implementation of Enterprise Chief Data Office (EDCO) data records management programs by leveraging and adopting enterprise capabilities, including records and information retention and disposal policies, standards and procedures for data lifecycle management, data record archival /retention, tracking and disposal in collaboration with stakeholders
• Collaborate with the Technology team to adopt and implement enterprise-wide records management technology to be deployed in CRS
• Work closely with the business functional teams, process owners, information technology and US Personal Banking (USPB) data owners to establish data archiving, retention and backup strategies to optimize expenses across platforms.
• Work in concert with the Privacy teams to help maintain data privacy standards across CRS.
• Oversees the execution of CRS projects and work closely with stakeholders and delivery teams to ensure CRS projects are delivered on time while adhering to all governance and control requirements to ensure project risks are identified and managed to acceptable tolerance levels.
• Building and maintaining a broad understanding of Citi's technology strengths, weaknesses, and priorities to drive focus and prioritization in discussion with the emerging technology ecosystem
• Implement processes to coordinate and track the regular review of data policies and standards to ensure in-business teams are aligned with current policies
• Develop and measure the effectiveness of standards, policies and procedures
• Perform annual Risk self-assessments to ensure compliance with all data record management policies, standards and procedures
• Mitigate operational and technological risks by actively supporting the overall data governance program
• Builds key stakeholder relationships to ensure comprehensive representation in the creation of pragmatic and executable platform strategies for improving the CRS ecosystem.
• Fosters productive business relationships and build strong sponsorship of the business architecture and roadmap
• Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced finance environment, and drive complex operational initiatives across multiple geographies with diverse resources Qualification
  • 5+ years relevant experience in complex institutions. Deep experience in data/IT risk disciplines.
  • Strategic thinker; must be able to look towards the broadest possible view of an issue or challenge; can easily pose future scenarios; can think globally; and can discuss multiple aspects and impacts of issues and project them into the future.
  • Experience in analyzing projects in evolving and complex environments.
  • Have a technical background with working knowledge of UNIX, SQL/SAS is a plus.
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, drive consensus, and influence relationships at all levels.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills;
  • Acts as a role model for coaching, and serving as a mentor.Education:
