The Americas, Director of Finance is a key role in the Finance Department that will interact with multiple levels of the organization, from the executive team down to plant operations. The position will serve a critical role in the company's continuing transformation, driving change in our financial processes for our rapidly growing business. The role is responsible for the management of our Accounting and Finance Operations for the Americas (including business unit accounting, inventory accounting, internal controls, managing financial audits and monthly and quarterly financial reporting) as well as oversight of certain other financial, risk management and legal administration matters for the Americas region
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Broad-based financial leadership role with exposure to a wide range of responsibilities including support of four Americas manufacturing facilities, inventory control processes and cost accounting procedures, monthly accounting and reporting, financial analysis, technical accounting issues, and internal controls
  • Actively participates and provides leadership in the development of business strategies and plans, and their execution; this position plays a business leadership role beyond accounting and financial planning and analysis
  • Responsible for all aspects of business unit accounting including, but not limited to, the global consolidation process, preparation and/or review of account reconciliations, financial statements and roll forwards
  • Delivers critical financial analytics, interpretation and insight into the financial performance of the business segment and product lines on an historical and forward-looking basis by providing ideas and solutions to drive business performance
  • -Enhance inventory control processes and cost accounting procedures to ensure accurate valuation of inventory on financial statements
  • Ensure appropriate application of U.S. GAAP / IFIRS to financial transactions and adherence and proper conversion from local GAAP to U.S. GAAP / IFIRS for financial reporting purposes
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive internal controls compliance program, including design, implementation, testing, and assessment that will meet SOX 404 requirements
  • Leads Annual Operating Plan process for the Americas Region business, responsible for coordinating this core business process across all functional teams
  • Plan, coordinate, lead weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reporting & analytics, communicating opportunities, risks and performance issues to business segment leadership
  • Drive continuous improvement in the areas of accounting operations and financial reporting processes/systems
  • Assist in the implementing and maintaining of multiple corporate initiatives with direct exposure and reporting to senior management
  • Manages a team of 6 direct reports, with responsibility to manage, develop and provide both tactical and strategic leadership for the group to include skill development

    SECONDARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Collaborate with the other regional Finance Directors to help accurately and consistently report monthly and quarterly financial reports
    • Create and lead a high-performance finance team, promote career development, effectively coaches / counsels' employees; develops future finance leaders
    • Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external audit teams to ensure effective utilization of resources

      JOB SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

      • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in accounting management or senior management for a manufacturing company, or management experience with a public accounting firm
      • Well-rounded experience in Corporate Accounting including a deep understanding of Financial Reporting, Capital, Corporate Tax & Audit
      • Significant experience in Commercial Finance, FP&A and Operational Finance with proven ability to produce advanced analytics
      • Excellent judgment and decision-making ability
      • Results driven, analytical, self-motivated and detail oriented with the ability to logically identify solutions or approaches to complex problems
      • Advanced Microsoft Office, SAP and general systems proficiency required
      • Executive presence with strong verbal and written communications
      • Ability to effectively set and communicate expectations and directives to staff
