Job Description:

OVERALL ROLE:Drive Lok Family product strategy, innovation, launch of new products and creating a refresh of existing product line through collaboration with Engineering, Operations, Sales, and partners accelerating growth. Simply put, accelerate growth of existing product lines, as well as commercialize innovative, one-of-a-kind new products by leveraging industry experience and contact with customers and machine and/or converting partners. The Product Manager will blend business and technical savvy, along with creating the strategic vision, awareness, and growth of the Lok Family of products across markets and applications.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Work closely with Engineering, Operations, and Sales to drive growth in the Lok product lineOwn product management from inception to launch to commercialization phase -This will include working closely with Hoffer's strategic partners for pouch converting, converting machine manufacturers, packaging filling machine manufacturers, etc.Identifying key targets (brands and coman)Market analysis determining competition, market price, barriers to entry, and what resources are needed for a successful product launchBe the Lok product line expert in the markets and applications served by our customers and to be able to help identify ways to improve and provide value to the customer.Create and implement strategy to grow the product portfolio revenue at margins at or above target levelsIdentify new potential products that compliments and enhances current line as well as identify improvements to existing products.As the source expert, you will provide regular training on the product line and strategy, capabilities and technology to the internal team and customers as required.Attend machine trials to validate product feasibility, create and maintain strong relationships among key strategy partners, and when needed, speak as an industry expert at conferences and meetings.STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCEEffective organizing and matrix managing the activities of personnel involved with the sales, operations, engineering and service process.Soundness of operational decisions.Timeliness adequacy and accuracy of all reports to management.COMPETENCIESVISION/COMMUNICATEUnderstands the plastics industry and the importance of customer focus and keeps informed on the market.Establishes strong relationships with all stakeholders internally and externally.Exhibits excellent proactive communication skills with the ability to communicate simply and effectively, in both verbal and written communications.Communicates in an open, candid, consistent manner.ACCOUNTABILITY/COMMITMENT/INTEGRITYUnderstands financial implications of the Lok product line.Acts with unyielding integrity in business transactions.Is self-motivated and takes responsibility for individual and team contributions by setting and meeting aggressive targets.Demonstrates a high level of professionalism.Openly supports diverse cross functional teams.PASSION FOR EXCELLENCEActively supports new ideas and processes to serve the customer, focused both internally and externally.Solves problems quickly and efficiently and exhibits the ability to handle complex situations.Understands Benchmarking and needs assessment for customers.Possesses excellent business development skills.Exhibits strong technical skills in the area of Hoffer Plastics core competencies.Exhibits excellent time management skills.Supports the Quality Teams and works to identify and implement policy and procedures.Clearly understands that team work and diverse teams typically lead to better process and business improvements.BOUNDARYLESS/EMPOWERMENTUnderstands the functions and the systems within Hoffer Plastics and how they interact to drive growth.Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to influence others, and adapt to different situations.Possesses strong negotiation skills.Within a team, understands the impact of culture when dealing with both collaboration and conflict between workers.GLOBAL TEAMWORKActively supports project teams with Hoffer Plastics, customers and suppliers.Demonstrate team leadership skills.Understands that specific performance goals can be accomplished in various ways by different people.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business, Packaging Engineering or other related discipline;7+ years demonstrated relevant skills and quantifiable results in the packaging industry;Experience in selling and/or marketing high end, value added products a plus;Successful management of product strategy and product launches utilizing market research and partner collaboration across the value chain;Demonstrated track record of strong leadership, strategic thinking, communication, and teamwork;Strong analytical and project management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects;Experience leading cross-function teams and being a team player;Demonstrated success creating and launching new products.Hoffer Plastics is an equal opportunity employer.
