Job Description Job Description Job Title: Controls Designer Job Description The Controls Designer is responsible for designing and fabricating control systems based on technical drawings. This role requires the development of diagrams using CAD software to ensure precision and accuracy in design. Responsibilities Design schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, and panel layout drawings using CAD. Create drawings from written and verbal specifications. Collaborate with engineers on project accuracy, design standards, and documentation. Complete project responsibilities within scope, budget, and create bills of materials that include control enclosures, components, and wires. Serve as a technical resource for internal and external customers. Participate in cross-functional teams to improve processes, methods, productivity, and quality while reducing costs. Resolve engineering issues that arise during fabrication, assembly, and service. Work closely with production as a technical expert ensuring adherence to safety procedures and electrical codes. Essential Skills Proficiency in panel design and AutoCAD Electrical. Ability to create electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Experience with control system design and panel layout. Familiarity with automation systems, Allen Bradley PLC, VFD, and SolidWorks Electrical. Knowledge of conveyors, cranes, hoists, and bill of materials (BOMs). Additional Skills & Qualifications Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Automation Systems Technology. High school diploma with at least one year of experience working in AutoCAD Electrical for panel design. Work Environment The majority of the workday will be spent in an office environment, with occasional trips to the manufacturing floor. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Menomonee Falls, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
