Manufacturing Engineer Manager OTTO - designed, manufactured and precision tested, right here in the USA. OTTO's opportunity: Our Manufacturing Engineer Manager will supervise the functions of developing the methods and processes for new products and improving on existing products. Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all production equipment. Specifically, the Manufacturing Engineer Manager will : Manage Manufacturing Engineers on multiple projects Provide technical guidance to support staff such as drafters, designers, technicians and engineers. Direct the activities of one or more employees in lower classifications, to include training, assigning and checking work Responsible for complex projects for the development of manufacturing methods and processes in the production of various company product lines Investigate, establish and implement requirements for equipment, tooling, materials and methods of manufacturing, including make or buy decisions and facility layout as required for new or revised products, from pilot run through normal production Work well with other company members to complete a project or emergency requirements timely, and efficiently. Line down conditions, tool or process improvements, limited line training, new product development and introduction, recommend alternatives to product design, prototype tools and production parts Have the ability to troubleshoot product and tooling problems, develop and implement a fix, follow through with a long-term solution Provide resource requirements in order to continue to achieve customer satisfaction Monitor performance of the engineers and provide periodic performance reviews Keep abreast of evolving technologies and improvements in existing technologies to keep organization competitive and prepared for the future Perform all function of engineering positions below this level of responsibility Direct the maintenance function in the upkeep and preventative maintenance of all production equipment. Assure the preventative maintenance program is being actively maintained and managed Participate in the Material Review Board (MRB) - including developing and processing Discrepant Material Reports (DMRs) and performing part analysis as directed by MRB members Assist with other related duties as required or assigned What you'll need to bring to the table: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent Minimum 10 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering environment Minimum 3 years of experience in technical management required 3 years in machine/tool design preferred Possess a strong mechanical background with knowledge of project management and cost reductions as required Have computer or CAD experience Familiar with ISO 9000 requirements and SPC OTTO's Benefits: Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401(k) with a company match Tuition Assistance Life Insurance Benefits Competitive Pay Profit Sharing Bonus Paid Vacation and Holidays Company Picnic Holiday Party AND numerous OTTO celebrations throughout the year!
