Job Description We are looking for skilled Thermoforming Setup Technician (6:00am --- 2:15 pm; 2:00 pm) to oversee the daily operation, setups, and maintenance of our thermoforming equipment. As a Thermoforming Setup Technician, you will be responsible for daily mold and insert changes, as well as coordinating with shift leads and operators to ensure the smooth operation of our thermoforming equipment. This will include maintaining equipment, molds, and inserts, performing regular services and maintenance procedures, troubleshooting equipment breakdowns and communicating across shifts and up through your supervisor. To ensure success as a Thermoforming Setup Technician, you should have thermoforming or similar plastic forming experience and knowledge, a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting skills, and excellent time-management skills. Ultimately, a top-class Thermoforming Setup Technician boosts production with efficient and accurate setups, while ensuring all production equipment functions correctly and receives regular maintenance. Responsibilities: -- Prepare molds for changeovers (Inserts, number and name plates, trim guides, date codes, etc.) -- Operate sit down forklifts, and manual lifting devices to move molds and any other required items around the production facility. -- Perform mold changeovers in the Thermoformers as outlined in the Thermoforming Changeover Check Sheet and monitor performance. -- Perform weekly Preventative Maintenance duties outlined in the PM schedule (MAAC Machines). -- Rebuild clamp frame cylinders and other parts and components related to MAAC machines. -- PM of ancillary equipment such as mold temperature controllers, vacuum pumps, etc. -- Work closely with the shift lead and quality inspector to help address any issues that arise during the shift especially in areas of Safety, Quality and Productivity. -- Troubleshooting mechanical and other issues causing unplanned downtime. -- Adjusting mechanical parts using hand and machine tools. -- Fabricating parts for repairs and machine upgrades. -- Conducting routine maintenance and safety checks. -- Communicating with the production team and maintaining a clean work area. -- Preparing and submitting maintenance reports. Qualifications: 2 years or more work experience with thermoforming operations, mold setup, and/or maintenance. Have 1 year of prior experience operating a powered industrial vehicle (forklift, reach truck) Practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance. Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems. Experience using basic hand and power tools Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations. Excellent troubleshooting skills. Basic computer and report writing skills. Ability to lift and manipulate heavy equipment. Self-initiative and excellent time-management skills.
