In this role you will develop new molding processes (medical and
non-medical) using scientific methods/decoupled molding and ensure
machines are running at established Overall Equipment Efficiency
Standards (OEE). Applicants MUST have Injection Molding Processing
experience.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops new molding processes (medical and non-medical) using
scientific methods/decoupled molding.
Recommends tooling/equipment modifications to maximize cycle times
and reduce scrap.
Creates new robotic programs and improves existing programs.
Establishes process specification mold qualification (PSMQ)
documents for new projects.
Follows the APQP process and documents all scrap and labor costs in
ERP system for assigned projects.
Leads continuous improvement (Process Engineering A3)
activities.
Additional Responsibilities:
Troubleshoots, identifies, monitors and corrects issues of
injection molding process and production equipment.
Approves and implements PSMQ changes on production requests.
Researches new methods and best practices of injection molding.
Participates in continuous improvement activities.
Facilitates classroom training for production technicians in
conjunction with Training Coordinator.
Required Skill/Knowledge:
Ability to communicate both written and verbal at all levels of the
organization, leadership ability, decision making, minimum 2 years
as process engineer, lean manufacturing principles, root cause
analysis and continuous improvement (A3), advanced blueprint
reading, Six Sigma Green Belt, GD&T knowledge. RJG master
molder I and II.
Preferred Skills/ Knowledge:
PLC/automation, liquid silicone rubber (LSR) molding experience or
certification.
Education Level / Required Certification:
BS Industrial, Mechanical, Process, or Manufacturing Engineering
and 3-5 years of experience OR minimum 2 years as Junior Process
Engineer or equivalent education and experience.
