Journey/Senior Accountantinside the Dept. of Employee Trust Funds Must be able to work onsite in Madison, WI (West Side) 1 day/week Full Time - Weekdays 8am to 5pm - Hybrid Capability - $36/HrDepending Upon Experience This position will work under general supervision and be responsible for performingspecializedaccounting functions for the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) as well as other employee benefit plans administered by the Employee Trust Fund. This positionis responsible forindependently performing complex financial calculations, reconciliationsacross multiple data sources and systems, managing multiple appropriations, funds and subledgers,and financial analysis as well as completing journal entries and other accounting functionsin accordance withGAAP. This position will perform and review member account adjustments following the ETF policies and state statute. This position is also actively involved in the analysis, development, and implementation of procedures to ensure the most efficient and effective implementation of work plans and/or procedures. We are looking for someone who is detail oriented, eager to learn about complex benefit programs, and interested in helping the team ensure proper andtimelyreporting. We want someone who is skilled at diving into complex issues and proposing effective solutions. Bring your strong knowledge of internal control principles, as well as: critical thinking, analytical and data gathering skills, along with your team player mentality and excellent communication skills Full Benefit Package Available including PTO and holidays Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher inAccounting Transactional Accounting Experience of 2 years Knowledge of ERP/Accounting systems - preferably PeopleSoft. Ability to: research, analyze anddetermineresponses to complex questions and problems. interpretand analyze financial data, prepare statements,reportsor other financial documents. reconcile accounts on a periodic bases to other accounting systems develop financial policies and procedures This position requires a pre-employment background check, educationverification,and references - which will be administered after a conditional job offer is extended.
